Mission Statement of the Child Development Center
Our mission is to provide a laboratory setting for the training of early childhood professionals so that children and childcare providers throughout our community can benefit. We will provide a safe, high quality, learning environment for all young children, supporting them in developing a positive self-image and fostering joy for learning. The opportunity to learn will be introduced through developmentally appropriate activities designed to develop skills in areas of social, emotional, physical and cognitive growth. This opportunity will be accessible to all our communities' children and their families in a warm and accepting environment that encourages a sense of security and trust.
We will incorporate the Virginia's Foundation Blocks for Early Learning: Comprehensive standards for Four - Year - Olds into our daily activities for our Pre-school II group and1-2-3 READ! literacy program into our Infant, Toddler, and Pre-school I groups.
