Ms. Sarah graduated in 1984 with a B.B.A. in Marketing from E.T.S.U. In 2004 she received her Child Development Associates Degree from Columbia Community College in Columbia, Tenn. She has been in childcare for fourteen years. Ms. Sarah will be instrumental in developing the 1-2-3 READ program in this group. |
Teacher Assistant: Samantha Bradshaw

Samantha is a WCC student majoring in Elementary Education. She has worked with all of our children through the summer and has been a major support staff with Ms. Sarah in the Infant room. |
| Toddlers | |
|
Ms. Susie worked for twenty-one years in industry, but she has found that her true niche is working with young children. Working with the toddlers is a job that she loves. |
|
Magen is a WCC student in Business Marketing works as an assistant in our toddler classroom with Ms. Susie. She is from Wytheville and is very conscientious in being here bright and early every morning. |
|
Ashley is also an Education student, majoring in Elementary Education, and besides being the daughter of Ms. Sarah, she works with Ms. Susie caring for our little toddlers. After graduating from WCC she plans to attend Old Dominion University. |

Ms. Carol has worked in childcare for eighteen years. Before coming to WCC she worked for the Park Service at Claytor Lake State Park. She will be completing her Associates Degree in Early Childhood. Carol is our “right hand woman” as she fills-in for all positions as regular staff is absent or in class. She is very familiar to all our tasks and children. |

Leslie recently joined our staff with Ms. Carol in the Pre-School 1 room. Leslie brings with her several years experience in the early childhood field including working in the lab school at New River Community College. |

Ms. Meggann is a student in WCC’s building trade program. She is invaluable to our center. She opens early in the morning and works tirelessly with her three’s. Meggann has a natural ability to see what needs to be done and to do it! |
| Pre-K | |

Ms. Keisha has an A.A.S in Education from WCC. She is our 1-2-3 READ Virginia program leader for the Center and is implementing many ideas in all of our classrooms which promote communication, pre-reading and pre –writing skills. Keisha is constantly reminding us that early childhood programs should look different than Kindergarten and First Grade. Young children learn by doing and 1-2-3 READ curriculum promotes this literacy emphasis in all of our areas. Our center is the demonstration site in Southwest Virginia for this program. |

Ms. Rachel is a current Early Childhood Development student. She hopes to work toward a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood. Rachel enjoys the children very much and strives daily to make a calm, consistent environment for this group. |

Denise Pickett joined us a part time faculty in November and continues to be stable force in all our classrooms when a staff person is absent. She truly relates well to all ages. |

After working for several years as a secretary, Ms. Tammy is working toward a degree in Early Childhood. She has a genuine love for working with infants. Tammy’s excitement when a child does something new is contagious throughout the center. She is a dedicated and lively resource. |

Although Ms. Nikki is a student at WCC in the Early Childhood Curriculum, she has almost three years experience in childcare. She is excited about working toward her degree. Nikki is very consistent and loving in her care and communication with the children. She has a delightful little girl in our Toddler room and her mothering skills are beneficial to all of her group as well. |

Beth spends everyday providing nutritious meals for our children. She is also responsible for purchasing all the good food and presenting them in an appetizing meal. |

Ms. Sheryl has thirteen years of experience working with young children and staff in a college Lab school setting. She is always available to talk…to assist…to hug. Be sure to seek her out if you have questions, concerns or praise of our program. We want to be a partner with families in the growth and development of their children. |

Dianna Forrest is Head of the WCC Early Childhood Associate Degree Program. Ms. Forrest has over twenty nine years experience in early childhood education. The goal of the WCC Lab School is to provide a high quality training experience for our growing number of students and to work diligently to make our program developmentally appropriate for young children. |
